Overview

The federal bureaucracy is always in the news. The story might be about someone having a problem with a federal agency. It might be about the investigation of a federal agency action. The Congress, through its oversight function, might be holding congressional hearings on a federal agency or a bureaucrat. The story could be about pending changes in rules or regulations.

Assignment

Find an article that is about some aspect of the federal bureaucracy. (See note below.)

1. Provide a link to the article.
2. Summarize the article contents in a 1-2 paragraph synopsis.
3. Discuss how the function of the federal bureaucracy impacts the country.

NOTE: When I ask for an "article", I do not want an opinion or editorial; look at the web link and if it includes "opinion", "op", "editorial", "ed", etc. or if the article content indicates that it is an editorial or opinion piece, it will not count. Also, I do not want a government website or report.  I want you to find an article that is written to report on a particular event or issue, an investigative report, or in-depth account by a journalist.
