, UNESCO suggests … “It is simply common sense to prepare for the future. There are situations in which one may say that the past determines the present and the present is determined by what we want the future to be”.

Considering this statement:

1. Construct a graphic design which demonstrates your perspective of ONE (1) immense transition needed in the educational program you lead (or wish to lead). (Examples: School in the Cloud, national or international educational programming, sustainable focus in educational practice, space exploration with NASA engagement, etc….. the key is to truly let your focus become ‘unrealistic’ and develop an idea that is necessary but somewhat beyond what our typical strategic plans allow).

2. Formulate a creative brief to describe your future goal with a specific outcome for one stakeholder group (students, community, teachers/staff, leadership team, etc.).

Amended Structure for a Professional Brief

The HubSpot (https://blog.hubspot.com/marketing/creative-brief

Links to an external site.) describes a ‘brief’ as a “roadmap that takes a project from ideation to completed” (2022 paragraph 2). This website further indicates that the creative brief is a “short document that sums up …. key details with a goal of achieving stakeholder alignment on a project before it begins” (2022, paragraph 4).

According to the Indeed Editorial Team (March16, 2021, paragraph 1), “A brief can help you communicate important details to key stakeholders … and can increase the likelihood that your project will be successful.

In this formative assessment, you will be taking your visioning exercise and moving it into a brief that will document specific details for a designated audience of the major change you have determined is needed for your educational program.

3. Create your brief ( as noted in the definition of such) is a one to two page narrative including the following elements. (The concept of a brief has been adjusted for our purposes.)

● Project Name ● Organizational background (only details needed to create alignment and

understanding with the proposed project. ● Key Message: A brief message about the need for the identified change. ● Interpret the competitive landscape (future needs). ● Describe in detail what the change is. ● Key Stakeholder Benefit: Why it is needed; what is it’s purpose (your

argument or persuasive facts that demonstrate the need for this change. ● The stakeholder group which needs the proposed change (typically students). ● A succinct overview of the potential goals for this change. ● Members of the team who will be exploring ways to implement and achieve

the change. ● A BROAD (succinct) overview of the communication channels where the

change will be introduced. ● A conclusion summarizing the essential points you want your audience to

remember.
